I have always had the desire to help people and also had a curiosity in how the body functions.  I wanted to be a veterinarian, when I was younger, but never pursued it in my high school or college years.  Instead, I went on to college and received my bachelor's degree in journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations and a minor in Communications.  Shortly after college graduation, I worked for the Daily Herald as a Community Relations Coordinator for about 1.5 years.

After marrying my husband and having two sons, I stayed home with my kids for many years.  During my time as a stay-at-home mom, I started to receive massages at a local salon and the thought of joining the massage field started to cross my mind.  I could not turn my brain off, when receiving my own massages.  I was constantly thinking about what the therapist was doing. I knew with the right education and training, that I would probably enjoy massage therapy as a career.  I had considered going to massage school when my youngest son was an infant, but the better part of me decided that it would be too stressful to tackle school at that point in my life.  10 years later, I made the decision to pursue massage therapy as a career and am so happy I took that path.
